The Parliament has voted the text protecting mountain products

The European Parliament has voted, during its plenary session on 13th of September 2012, the regulation introducing "mountain product" as an optional quality term. It is not about a label as such as the press release describes but an optional reserved term which can be put on products and which is considered now as one of the EU quality schemes.

The Commission is already working on implementation.

The only remaining step to full formal approval is the decision by the Council.
