Be prepared for the 2016 European Mountain Convention

After HAZI and the Basque Government in October 2014, Centro de Investigação de Montanha (CIMO) and Instituto Politécnico de Bragança (IPB) will welcome the next European Mountain Convention in October 2016 in Brangança (Portugal).

For 2016, the European Mountain Convention will be linked with the First International Conference on Research for Sustainable Development in Mountain Regions, these two events will be called “Mountains 2016”.

Both events will be officially launched on 29th April 2015 at 15:00 at the Alcinio Miguel Auditorium, School of Technology and Management, Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.

MOUNTAINS 2016 aims to bring together scientists, farmers, decision-makers, NGOs, and other mountain stakeholders from different regions of the world to present and discuss major topics in sustainable development in mountains and other subjects related to the role of knowledge and innovation in promoting development in these special areas.

Euromontana members will be invited to attend and these events will be open to a wider audience. To officially launch the event, Juanan Gutiérrez, President of Euromontana will present the association and the European Mountain Conventions, which exist since 18 years.
