This project is aimed at creating a European Network of twinned towns that have been affected by depopulation as a result of the current economic and social crisis. The ultimate goal of the network is to help partners to reflect on this common problem and to find common solutions to face depopulation locally.
This project will be submitted under the “Europe for citizens” programme, under the Action 1, Measure 1.2 Networks of twinned towns. The deadline for the submission of the proposal is 1st September 2014.
Participants can EXCLUSIVELY be MUNICIPALITIES or ASSOCIATION OF MUNICIPALITIES affected by depopulation.
Participants are NOT required to CONTRIBUTE financially to the project but they will have to take part actively in the 3 or 4 events in different European cities and their organization.
One of our Euromontana members, the Province of Teruel, will join this network. If you are also interested, please send a brief description of your municipality or association and explain why you are directly involved in or affected by depopulation.
For further information, please contact the Euromontana secretariat ASAP to liaise with the project coordinator.
