European Mobility Week: Clean air – it’s your move!

Between the 16th and the 20th of September, different activities have been developed in more than 2,000 cities of 43 countries, with the aim of creating a more sustainable mobility culture. These activities are promoted by the European Commission and they are called together “European Mobility Week”.

These events have been celebrated for more than ten years and although they are always around sustainable mobility, each year a specific focus is selected. For 2013, the chosen topic aims to clean up our air, and by doing so, create a healthier Europe. The objective is to make people be aware of the impact of the transport in the pollution and take concern of the benefits for the environment, health and life of a cleaner air.

The European Mobility Week is linked with the “Do the Right Mix” campaign of the Directorate General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission. Launched in 2012, the campaignis a three-year initiative funded through the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme, aiming to support sustainable urban mobility campaigners in Europe.

You can check the different activities that had taken place in the webpage, as well as all the participant cities.

Euromontana also works on mobility in mountain and rural areas in the framework of the Move on Green INTERREG IVC project.
