Like its sister the AlpineWeek which is held every four years, the Alpine Week Intermezzo is an international event organised jointly by the most important Alpine organisations committed to sustainable development and mountain protection. The city of Nice, located at the end of the Alpine arc, will host this year’s event, which is free of charge, in an extraordinary alpine atmosphere. The Intermezzo Alpine Week 2020 will be held alongside with of the closing events of the French Presidency of the Alpine Convention and of SUERA and will allow a meeting between the actors of these different Alpine cooperation frameworks.

Topic

Youth & Climate – What involvement of Alpine youth in its future?

The living environment and jobs that are considered typically “Alpine” today will probably not be so tomorrow, not least because of climate change. The focus of the Intermezzo Alpine Week 2020 will be on what this means for the younger generation. How do young people perceive the changes in landscapes and natural environments linked to climate change? What environment will they live in?

Are you a young person, a member of an association, active in an educational institution, a guidance or career development centre, a researcher, a civil servant, an elected representative or an Alpine citizen? Join the AlpWeek Intermezzo and share your views and experiences in order to sketch out answers together to facilitate the involvement of young people in this rapid evolution of environment, societies and economies.
