In February 2018, the Metropolis of Grenoble organised the 1st Metropolis Mountain Forum. Due to the size of the audience, the quality of the speakers and the reactions it generated, it was a milestone in the construction of the metropolitan action for the mountains and a unifying event. To mark the involvement of the Metropolis in the framework of the EUSALP French presidency, the organisation of the conference “City-mountain cooperation: together towards carbon neutrality” will allow an opening up to the scale of the European Alps and the discussion of different experiences and approaches to this issue.

This new stage of the “Mountain Metropolis”, in its Euro-alpine dimension, will be organised around a stimulating and attractive day of exchange between political and technical actors, institutions and associations.

Elected representatives, technicians, experts from public and private organisations, NGOs, researchers, etc., from the Alpine region and beyond, will have the opportunity to discuss cooperation between urban and rural Alpine territories in various fields (agriculture, food, forestry, biodiversity, culture, leisure, mobility, etc.), contributing to the European objectives of climate neutrality 2050.

Programme and registration

The articulation of scales, from local to international, will be at the heart of the conference and the experiences that will be presented. Field visits to cooperation initiatives in the field of biodiversity and adaptation to climate change will be offered on 6 October in the afternoon to enrich your stay.

More information on the programme and registration process will be available on the event’s webpage in the next few weeks and you can already save the date! The event will be held at Grenoble’s Management School.
