On the occasion of the French Presidency of EUSALP, the national meetings of pastoralists and the International Film Festival “Pastoralism and Great Spaces” come together under a common banner to put spotlight on Euro-Alpine pastoralism.

Programme

The Euro-alpine meeting of pastoralism will take place in Grenoble on October 8, 2020, as part of the Film Festival “Pastoralism and Great Spaces”. Organised by the SUACI and the Federation of Isère mountain pastures, the event will be an opportunity to discuss the following topics:

  • Food sovereignty, a new challenge of enhancing the value of pastoral products
  • Resilience of pastoral livestock farming to climate change
  • Metropolises and pastoral areas, confrontation and complementarity

Marie Clotteau, Director of Euromontana will present the results of the mountain grasslands report, and pastoral initiatives to improve the resilience of pastures, across the Alpine region and elsewhere, to contribute to their sustainable environmental, economic and social management. A round table with alpine policy makers will allow to discuss solutions to strengthen pastoralism in the face of territorial changes
