The 2019 edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities will take place the week of 7 October. Launched in 2003, it is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions show their ability to create growth and jobs, implement the European Union’s cohesion policy and demonstrate the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.

From regional innovation, to territorial cooperation, climate change, transport and social inclusion, the European Week of Regions and Cities offers more than 300 conferences and workshops and a wide range of themes of interest for vibrant and dynamic regions.

Euromontana will actively participate in this week and will also organise the following event on 8 October 2019: Europe Closer to citizens of Islands Mountains and Sparsely Populated Areas. The event will be focusing on how the post 2020 regional policy can address the challenges and unleash the development potential of EU islands, mountains and sparsely populated areas by using tailor made approaches to their specificities.
