Banner Mountain WeekThe Mountain Week is organised from the 4th to 11th June 2015. This Mountain week is being organised by the governments of mountainous countries, the secretariats of the Alpine Convention and Carpathian Convention and other organisations that belong to the Mountain Partnership. This Mountain week aims to promote sustainable mountain development and the products yielded in mountainous areas. The main topics that will be discussed in this event are: food and water supplies, the possibility of increasing food safety and future and sustainability always with a mountain approach.

Euromontana is involved in the organisation of two main events:

This high level opening conference will analyse the outcomes achieved so far in linking environmental with economic progress in mountain regions in the field of farming and food productions, to examine their economic potential and explore the unexploited potential of international cooperation for mountain territories in support to initiatives for food sustainability, transformation, certification and regional and global trade. Existing experiences and tools will be presented and a sound debate will be stimulated about innovative tools and adequate frameworks to promote a sustainable and effective commerce of mountain products.

The final event of the Mountain Week will deal with green marketing for mountain food products. Having regard for the growing attention by consumers for green products in the food sector, the meeting will allow to meet and support network creation among businesses in the agri-food sector operating in the mountains, especially in Italy, as a means to promote global market-orientated strategies.
