“Smart mountains for tomorrow” is a joint OCOVA forum, Smart Altitude event and EUSALP event.

Implementing low-carbon policies in winter tourism regions – 10 May, 9:30-17:00

SMART ALTITUDE brings together ten partners and twenty-four observers from six Alpine Space countries with the aim of accelerating the deployment of low carbon policies in regions with high winter tourism intensity. The project partners will present the main achievements of the three-year project with a special focus on the tools developed in the perspective of replication throughout the Alpine region.

EUSALP, the European Strategy for the Alpine Region, links towns, plains, valleys and mountains to find solutions to problems that can only be solved together. Capitalizing on the solutions outlined in the previous sessions, the event will open a debate on the future of ecological and tourism transition in the Alpine region with the participation of high-level European and national decision-makers.

Smart mountain: smart technologies for tomorrow – 11 May, 9:30-17:00

OCOVA is the annual forum that brings together innovation leaders in smart technologies, industrial players, development support organisations, and decision-making authorities to share their visions of the development of mountain territories.

The programme will focus on digital and environmental technologies for the reduction of energy consumption and GHG emissions, local energy production, infrastructure management and low-carbon mobility.  A session will also be dedicated to smart solutions for the attractiveness and tourism transition of mountain territories.

This event is organized by the municipality and resort of Les Orres, the Smart Altitude project, with support from the French Presidency of EUSALP.

It will be held partly on-site at Espace Rencontres & Culture – Les Orres 1650, 05200 Les Orres, France, and partly on-line with invited speakers and attendees throughout the Alpine Space. The event is a stage of the SUD Region for the General Assembly for the transition of Mountain Tourism – SUD Region.

The event will be partly onsite and online. More information on the programme and registration process.
