Grant Agreement signed: “A new CAP-Mountains of opportunities”

Logo-Final-frOn May 23rd, Euromontana signed a Grant Agreement with the Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission for an information measure called “A new CAP – Mountains of opportunities”. This project aims at informing mountain rural actors about the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)and exchanging experience and ideas on how the new CAP can be successfully implemented in mountain areas.

A new CAP – Mountains of opportunities” will fund the European Convention of the Mountain in Bilbao (Spain), as well as 5 preparatory seminars in Slovenia, Portugal, France, Italy and Romania. The seminars will inform mountain stakeholders about the opportunities offered by the new CAP and they will provide room to discuss experiences and initiatives on a number of themes, with special regard to the new quality term “Mountain Product”.

This project should lead to concrete action plans regarding better networking and cooperation, synergies between mountain value chains and the tourism sector, and LEADER development strategies promoting mountain value chains.
