Mountains, islands and sparsely populated areas: how successful is the current Cohesion Policy and what should be improved post-2020?

Based upon the principle that islands, mountains and sparsely populated areas face similar challenges in terms of economies of scale, connectivity, vulnerability to climate change and other geographic specificities (such as slopes for mountains or arctic conditions for the Northern Sparsely Populated Areas), several sessions at the European Week of Regions and Cities sought to find solutions for these territories using territorial funds. These sessions were organised in Brussels on 9 & 10 October 2018.

Read our report on the different workshops which were organised to discuss the future of the Cohesion policy in mountains, islands and sparsely populated areas here (only for members)
