NECSTouR is a network of European Regions for a sustainable and competitive tourism. Their objective is to implement a European framework regarding regional cooperation and tourism policy. NECSTouR gathers 28 Tourism Regional Authorities and 30 associated members (tourism enterprises/associations representatives, research centers and universities).
NECSTouR published their annual newsletter, in which is mentioned their participation in the DANTE final conference: indeed, Euromontana invited one of their members, Canton du Valais, to share its experience with tourism and ICT in mountain areas. In addition, some NECSTouR regions have participated to the ETIS pilot phase (“European Tourism Indicators System: for Sustainable Management at Destination Level”, a tool developed by the European Commission), in order to test these indicators and see how they can be improved.
The newsletter also announces the launch of the European Tourism Quality Principles (ETQP), an initiative aiming at helping tourism operators to value the quality of their services, strengthening the consumer’s confidence and boosting tourism flows in Europe.
Finally, among others upcoming events, will be held on 18th September 2014in Brussels the Tourage final conference, project aiming at reinforcing senior tourism in remote areas.
