From theory to practice: young people tell how Europe helps Lombardy’s mountains

Every year, the European Union uses the funds from the Cohesion Policy to finance projects that improve the lives of those who live in the most marginal areas of Lombardy’s mountains. Nevertheless, citizens are not always aware of this!

In the framework of the Montana174 project, the Regional Agency for Agricultural and Forestry Services (ERSAF) of the Lombardy’s region collaborate with Euromontana to highlight the favourable consequences of such funding on the marginal areas of the region.

In particular, ERSAF is launching a call for young people from schools, training institutes, associations, NGOs and ecclesiastical bodies in Lombardy who, through the creation of short but significant “works of art” (short films, interviews, comic strips or any other form of representation, including music), will illustrate the effects of Cohesion Policy in the mountains of Lombardy.

Young people will have the opportunity to participate to the Youth Lab “Storytelling 4 EU”, that will take place in 3 mountain areas of the Region starting on January 2022. With the help of a professional, the young people will have to tell the story, in the way most congenial to them, of people living in lesser-known corners of our mountains ad whose lives have improved thanks to the Cohesion Policy.

For further information, you can consult ERSAF (ERSAF-Comunicazione@ersaf.lombardia.it) or follow up Montana174’s website.
