Montana174 speaks at the Radio Gorski kotar, Croatia

On 11th March 2022, the Director of the Local Development Agency Pins Dubravka Kolarić Zatezalo presented the Montana174 project in the news of Radio Gorski kotar (Delnice, Croatia). Broadcasted every day at 4 pm, this radio is one of the main channels through which Gorski kotar residents receive information.

How does the Cohesion Policy benefit Croatian mountains?

This question was at the core of the Montana174’s presentation at the local radio of Radio Gorski Kotar, in Delnice (Croatia). Dubravka Kolarić Zatezalo introduced the European Cohesion Policy and how it has brought many benefits to Gorski kotar, such as supporting youth employment, tackling mobility, promoting tourism and innovation, and addressing climate change. In particular, she presented the “Wish for Skrad” project, as one of the most important example that provides homecare to the elderly people on a local scale.

A look to funding opportunities for mountains

Dubravka also informed the public that the project is currently working on factsheets to inform people about the new financial perspective of the Cohesion Policy between 2021 and 2027. These factsheets will be published in April 2022 and will summarize the funds that the Cohesion Policy will put in place to finance inititives in mountains of the Gorski Kotar region and across Europe.

Thanks to numerous examples of projects implemented in Gorski Kotar, citizens had the opportunity to learn how Cohesion Policy has a positive impact on the development of mountain areas and the people who live and work there. On behalf of the Local Development Agency Pins Dubravka invited listeners to visit the project’s website to learn more about the communication campaign Montana174, discover about stories and local projects funded through the Cohesion Policy and be up to date with forthcoming local events.
