Mountain walk in Croatia: discover how Cohesion Policy supports Kristina
In Croatia, adult citizens can benefit from numerous opportunities thanks to the European Cohesion Policy to simplify their work, improve their daily lives and take care of their family. Kristina is an imaginary character created by Montana174 project, whose intention is to showcase real projects financed by the 2014-2020 Cohesion Policy for local citizens in mountain areas.

Wood processing company RAVNA received funding to buy new machines and expand its business. As for the RAVNA company, the Cohesion Policy offers support to local companies to strengthen their business and support digitalization, with consequent benefits on the quality of work of its employees and the boost of the local economy.
The programme was launched by the Ministry of Labour and Pension System, Family and Social Policy in order to improve women’s position in the labour market. In particular, this programme facilitates disadvantaged women to find jobs in the care sector for the elderly and disadvantaged people, including in rural areas and islands, where the unemployment and long-term unemployment rates are higher than the Croatian average. Approximately 3045 women are planned to be employed throughout Croatia to work in support and care for people in need in their communities.
A recycling centre was built close to Delnice in order to strengthen the capacity for waste management in the region. Moreover, a secondary objective is to educate the public about proper waste management, including waste avoidance, waste preparation for reuse to recycling and recovery.
