Mountain walk the Aragon Region (Spain):  discover how Cohesion Policy supports Claudia

In the Aragon Region (Spain), entrepreneurs can benefit from numerous opportunities thanks to the European Cohesion Policy. Claudia is an imaginary character created by Montana174 project, whose intention is to showcase real projects financed by the 2014-2020 Cohesion Policy for entrepreneurs in mountain areas.

Discover with her from what initiatives local citizens can benefit in her mountain area:

1. Social integration of new families in rural areas

The “Nuevos Senderos” (New paths) programme was developed to integrate new families in less populated regions, including rural and mountain areas. The programme helps potential newcomers to identify possible rural municipalities that are willing to receive incoming population, to prepare for moving to the new welcoming area, to facilitate the socio-labour insertion in the receiving municipality.

2. Energy efficiency in public buildings

The PrioritEE project helped local actors to increase the energy efficiency of public buildings, such as city halls, schools and hospitals. In particular, this project provides local administrations with the tools to manage and monitor energy consumption, assess the cost-effectiveness of a predefined set of energy efficiency, and renewable energy sources measures, and prioritize investments.

3. Solutions for green mobility

Through the Smart-HY-AWARE project, new mobility solutions based on hydrogen and electric vehicles were developed in the Aragon region. An example of hydrogen vehicle was presented during the Motorland event.

Have a look at how Claudia experienced Cohesion Policy in her mountain walk (available in English and Spanish).
