SILVER SMEs: Euromontana is pleased to have won a new Interreg Europe project!

SILVER SMEs is an INTERREG Europe project that aims to identify and implement regional policies that take advantage of opportunities derived from the Silver Economy in order to improve the growth and competitiveness of SMEs. The project will start in June 2018 and will last 5 years.

Silver Economy can be defined as the economic opportunities arising from public and consumer spending related to the needs of an ageing population. In this project, partners will focus on SME development opportunities to produce goods and products for the retired (from 62 years of age), especially those living in peripheral and rural areas.

The main results expected from this project include among others a European benchmark study, the identification of 60 good practices covering both subgroups of the ageing society (according to income level, vulnerability, dependency status) and, transversally, some key economic sub-sectors of the Silver Economy (housing, health/welfare, robotics & ICT) and 8 action plans for the improvement of ERDF Operational Programmes related to SMEs.

The project leader is the Spanish province of Teruel and the other 11 project partners (including 3 Euromontana members!) come from Ireland, Slovenia, Portugal, Spain, France and Poland. Euromontana will be responsible for the communication and dissemination of the project results and will participate in all activities.

More information on this project will be available in June! In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us if the subject interests you.

"The rural development Pillar of the CAP is indispensable to the coherence of the CAP. It is thanks to this Pillar that #youngfarmers can receive assistance to set up their farms, crucial support for them and their future in the sector," says @JDecerle at #ruralvoices 🇪🇺 🌱
