SILVER SMEs publishes its 5th newsletter!

Did you know that 32% of the European Union’s older adult’s population lives alone? Loneliness and lack of adapted services make seniors more vulnerable in rural and mountainous areas. This is why SILVER SMEs is investigating on improvements of regional support to rural SMEs of the Silver Economy!

SILVER SMEs’ partners gathered in Zielona Gora, Poland, in October 2019, to discuss business opportunities linked to the vulnerable and fragile ageing population during the second international conference of the project. Nine good practices from across Europe were introduced during our event, offering inspiration to the audience to support older adults. Debate with Polish policy makers was also engaged to better understand possibilities to increase support to rural SMEs of the sector in the Lubuskie region.

In the past months, SILVER SMEs also met with Birgitta Sacrédeus, member of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and rapporteur of the recently adopted opinion on Active and Healthy Ageing.

You can discover the outputs of our conference, the recommendations of the CoR and the good practices in SILVER SMEs 5th newsletter!
