The new INTERREG C will be called INTERREG 2020

In the meeting of the Focus Group on Knowledge Transfer and Innovation of European Network for Rural Development celebrated the 31st of May, Euromontana had the opportunity to attend a presentation by Mr. Csaba Hende from DG REGIO on “Future of transnational cooperation and INTERREG Programme”.

Mr. Csaba Hende gave the attendants some interesting points on the future INTERREG programme, being one of the main novelties the change of name of the actual INTERREG C to INTERREG 2020 in the next policy period.

Regarding the funding, an important point was that the whole budget of the INTERREG 2020 will be dedicated to 4 of the Thematic Objectives (TO) of the European Fund for Rural Development, being those TO the followings:

– R&D and innovation (TO1)

– SMEs and entrepreneurship (TO3)

– Low-carbon economy  (TO4)

– Environmental protection (TO6)

These priorities for the INTERREG 2020 will be taken into account for the preparation of the projects incubating session foreseen at the Euromontana general assembly on November 7th, 2013.
