Les Alpes sont particulièrement vulnérables aux inondations en raison de leur topographie et des conditions atmosphériques qui peuvent provoquer des inondations importantes et soudaines. C’est notamment le cas dans la province de Trente, où les inondations ne sont pas rares.

Le projet LIFE FRANCA a permis d’améliorer les connaissances, la communication et l’anticipation des risques d’inondation en formant tous les acteurs de la montagne. La création d’un portail en ligne avec des informations en temps réel, qui demeure exploité par la région après la fin du projet, est le résultat le plus durable de LIFE FRANCA.
