Projet HERCULES: «paysages culturels européens à la croisée des chemins»

Le premier Atelier Européen des Parties Prenantes du projet HERCULES a eu lieu le 23 mai à Bruxelles. Intitulé «Paysages Culturels Européens dans un tournant », l’atelier organisé par l’Organisation européenne des Propriétaires Fonciers (ELO) a réuni 41 représentants de la Commission européenne, des experts, des ONG, des PME et de la communauté scientifique.

Financé par le septième programme-cadre (7e PC) de l’UE, le projet s’appuie sur le développement et l’application de technologies novatrices et des outils d’évaluation des paysages culturels. Les cinq objectifs du projet portent sur les thèmes clés de l’appel et forment la structure du projet :

  • Objectif 1: synthèse des connaissances existantes sur les causes, les types et les résultats de la persistance et du changement des paysages culturels d’Europe.
  • Objectif 2: réaliser des études de cas ciblées pour approfondir les connaissances sur les dynamiques et les valeurs des paysages culturels.
  • Objectif 3: élaborer une typologie des paysages culturels et appliquer les études de cas à plus large échelle à partir d’observations et de la modélisation du paysage.
  • Objectif 4: développer des visions pour le recouplage des composantes sociales et écologiques dans les paysages culturels et les traduire en des politiques et des options de gestion.
  • Objectif 5: concevoir et mettre en œuvre un centre de connaissances communautaire pour les bonnes pratiques d’aménagement paysager et le tester avec les utilisateurs des terres, les agences, les petites et moyennes entreprises, et les associations de citoyens.

Le projet étudie 9 paysages dans toute l’Europe, y compris ceux de montagnes telles que la vallée Obersimmental en Suisse, Rhône-Alpes en France et la vallée de Guadarrama en Espagne.
