Comprendre la PAC

La Politique Agricole Commune (PAC) soutient les agriculteurs depuis 1962 afin qu’ils puissent fournir de la nourriture saine et abordable à 500 millions de citoyens européens.

Mais la Politique Agricole Commune est beaucoup plus que la seule production d’aliments.

Elle contribue à maintenir une économie rurale dynamique, soutient la qualité et l’innovation, encourage la gestion durable des ressources naturelles, récompense les pratiques respectueuses de l’environnement et permet une approche de bas en haut (« bottom-up ») du développement local. En échange, non seulement les agriculteurs fournissent de la nourriture de qualité, mais ils entretiennent aussi les paysages, maintiennent la biodiversité et contribuent à atténuer les effets du changement climatique.

A partir de janvier 2015, la nouvelle PAC améliorera la durabilité et la compétitivité tout en continuant à promouvoir vers le marché de l’agriculture européenne. L’ensemble de la politique a été révisée et offre désormais des possibilités nouvelles et intéressantes pour les agriculteurs de montagne et les acteurs ruraux.
