XIV European Mountain Convention – Mountain extensive livestock farming

Join us in the heart of the Alps for the 14th edition of the European Mountain Convention, organized by SUACI Montagn’Alpes and Euromontana, under the theme of extensive livestock farming and pastoral practices!
Since 1998, European Mountain Conventions have been the key biennial gatherings of mountain stakeholders in Europe. Bringing together up to 300 experts from all over the continent, the event serves as a platform for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and networking.
Taking place during the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists 2026, the event will bring together farmers, researchers, policymakers, practitioners and mountain stakeholders from across Europe in the iconic Mont-Blanc region.
Over three days, participants will explore the social, environmental, and economic challenges and opportunities of extensive livestock farming in mountain areas. From generational renewal and working conditions to climate resilience, ecosystem services, and digital innovation, the event will foster in-depth dialogue and forward-looking perspectives on how policies can better reflect the territorial realities of mountain livestock systems.
