Here you will find a range of past and ongoing initiatives that are inspiring to drive change in the mountains! The database includes practices from all over Europe, covering a wide range of topics and using a variety of funding instruments. Austrian and German hay milk producers decided to promote the sustainability of haymilk through a communication campaign funded by the European agrifood promotion calls.

To cope with the effects of climate change, the area of Spessart which is covered both by the regions of Hesse and Bavaria, decided to develop a 4-seasons tourism model.

To decrease car dependency, a tailored made low-carbon transport strategy targeting the daily mobility of workers was implemented in Sankt Veit im Pongau.

Low-carbon dairy farm: reducing the climate impact of milk production in the mountains

The initiative Law Carbon Dairy Farm aims to propose concrete actions to each farmer, consistent with the constraints of the farm, including altitude and the lack of mechanisable land in order to reduce the carbon footprint of milk production.
