Q&A

How long will registration be open?

Registration will remain open until fifteen days before the event (subject to availability; the organisers reserve the right to close registration earlier).

Is it compulsory to take part in the study visits?

Participation in the study visits on 9 June is not compulsory; you may attend the conference only. Please indicate on the registration form whether or not you will be participating in the study visits. We also ask that you choose your study visit carefully when registering, as we cannot guarantee that it will be possible to change it at a later date.

Note: If you are a member of Euromontana and wish to participate in the visits, please choose one of the two short visits that will bring you back to Sallanches in time for the Euromontana General Assembly, which will be held on the afternoon of 9 June.

How and which zone should you choose for registration?

Please select your zone based on your place of residence or the location of your organisation.

  • Zone 1: Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Greece, Latvia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Estonia, North Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Turkey, other countries not belonging to groups 2 or 3
  •  Zone 2: Portugal, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Iceland, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama
  • Zone 3: France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Ireland, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Israel, Qatar, United Arab Emirates

What is included in the registration fee?

The conference registration fee covers some of the logistical costs of the event, such as interpretation, study visits and the meals explicitly mentioned in the programme. They do not cover travel and accommodation costs.

How can I pay the registration fee?

Registration fees can be paid by credit card or by bank transfer. When paying by credit card, payment is made at the end of the registration process and an invoice can be downloaded immediately after purchase via the link provided in the confirmation email. When paying by bank transfer (deferred payment), a reservation confirmation email is sent, but the invoice and payment instructions are sent separately by the organisers. Registration is only fully validated and tickets are issued once the bank transfer has been received. Until the invoice has been paid, the reservation confirmation email does not constitute a valid registration. After payment is received, participants can access their personal booking area using their email address and ticket number and download the final invoice.

How do I organise my trip to the Convention?

Sallanches is located in the heart of the French Alps. Information on the various means of transport available to get there will soon be detailed on the ‘Practical Information’ web page. On this same page, you will also find hotel recommendations.

We strongly advise to wait for confirmation of registration from the organisers before making any concrete travel arrangements.

What is the Convention's target audience?

The European Mountain Conventions are a major networking event for mountain stakeholders from all over Europe. The Conventions typically attract hundreds of experts and stakeholders from different sectors across Europe. All mountain stakeholders are welcome to join the Convention. Participants usually include, among others, representatives of European, national, regional and local public authorities, farming and environmental organisations, regional development agencies, universities and research centres or Local Action Groups.
