4 ecotourism workshops were organised in the Carpathians, in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Czech Republic, to train local handicraft entrepreneurs and other rural tourism professionals on how to implement sustainable tourism practices. The initiative aimed at increasing the visibility of rural and ecotourism in mountain areas.
The XI European Mountain Convention ended with the adoption by the participants of the Vatra Dornei Declaration on cultural heritage, which sets out Euromontana's approach and position on mountains’ cultural heritage
Euromontana has contributed to the consultation on The Future of European Tourism to provide some insights and recommendations from mountain areas. The 2014 position paper builds on the previous 2011 Euromontana position paper.
